Fae Prism and her faithful parasprite fairy assistant Six are more than a little concerned about local reports of a suspicious darkness tearing its way through the trees of the Everfree Forest. Gathering her friends, they decide to have a little camping trip, allowing Fae to investigate safely and to have a little fun in the meantime. Chilly Vista, Lumine Spores, and Chatterbox all hang back to watch over the campsite, and Grasswhistle watches the cave entrance while Fae ventures in on her own to scout out the area. However, she wasn't expecting the reported dark aura in the area to be coming from a fellow unicorn.. let alone a fellow unicorn whose magical presence was fading far too quickly for comfort. Telling Six to stay and watch over her, she turns to alert her friends, and hopefully come to the mysterious mare's aid before it's too late...

well over 40 layers, nearly 18 hours, and many near-give-up moments later. this is probably both one of the largest and most intensive projects i've done in a long time, and after putting in all the work, it'll be nice to have gotten this in well ahead of when i figured i would have. it's still pretty rough in terms of execution, in my own opinion, but i think it gets the point across well enough to stand as a finished piece.
